Job title: Painting & Decorating Apprentice

Description: Do you have a passion for painting? Do you have a desire to progress within the industry? If so this could be the ideal role for you. Working all over the east midlands you will be helping to decorate privately owned properties.

As a trainee you will often be supporting more experienced colleagues and be expected to learn from them to develop your knowledge.

Day to day duties will include:

• Preparing the work area and tools for the job. E.g. laying out dust sheets.
• Keeping the work area tidy during painting and cleaning up afterwards.
• Cutting in to the ceiling.
• Using a roller to apply paint to the walls.
• Glossing and priming
 
Further information: Team working skills, good timekeeping, methodical approach to work and a good attention to detail.

It is ideal that the candidate has some paint and decorating experience and worked with water based paints.

Additional information: The current National Minimum Wage (NMW) rate for apprentices is £3.50 per hour. This applies to 16-18 year old apprentices and those aged over 18 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.

This apprenticeship includes a day release each week to Beeston College.
